Intervention services are similar in kind for all different
situations including substance abuse, suicide, eating
disorders, depression, anxiety, death, etc. The family
and friends of individuals who have problems but are
unable to get help most often utilize interventions
services. Sometimes these individuals think they do
not need help or get defensive when the sensitive issue
is brought up. Family members and friends are able to
think more clearly than these individuals in crisis
and can help by making informed and safe decisions for
their loved ones. Interventions can be done for people
of all types including teenagers, adults, business executives
and professionals.
The two main types of interventions are crisis interventions
and drug interventions. Our crisis and drug intervention
services begin with an initial phone conversation to
understand your situation and what your needs are. We
will them make arrangements with you to meet with an
intervention specialist at the location of your choice;
usually home is best because it is safe for the individual
getting help. Before the interventionist arrives, you
and your family will already have a plan as to what
will happen after the intervention. The specialist will
come, meet and talk with the individual in need of an
intervention. Safety, comfort and support and very important
to us and we make sure that you feel the same way.
Crisis interventions
Crisis intervention happens in the event that a person
is systematically trying to kill themselves through
means other than drugs and alcohol. Specialists deal
with situations such as eating disorders problems, intense
grief and sadness, depression, suicidal feelings, and
other self-destructive behavior in crisis interventions.
If your situation does not fit into any of these categories
do not worry, our specialists are trained to handle
all situations and if for some reason they cannot we
have referrals across the country that can take care
of any situation, no matter how out of control.
Drug interventions
Drug interventions are done when there is a substance
abuser in the family that is being destructive and hurtful
but is unwilling to stop the behavior. Because drug
addicts and alcoholics live in so much denial, it is
hard as family members and friends to get through to
them. These substance abusers do not believe they have
a problem, and if they were left alone they would do
just fine. If you are family in this situation we are
grateful you called. Substance abuse and addiction only
gets worse and if an intervention does not take place
now it could be too late.
